Hollywood Glamour returns in new form…

Some of you may remember, back in the early days of world wide web popularity, back when all we had in terms of smoking fetish sites were Coherent Light and Smoking From All Sides, I ran my first smoking glamour site called Hollywood Glamour: The Art of Smoking in Cinema (archive.org save – not especially functional or very pretty).  It was a website dedicated to smoking in film and among celebrities, and it featured screen shots from movies and other photographs of celebrity women who smoked.  I shut the site down after a while, well before I started up Lady Madonna, simply due to time constraints and shifting interests in the online world, but while it was up, it was quite popular and even received a C-Net award.  Over the years, many people who remember the old site have written to me to ask what happened to it, and if I might ever start it up again.  I would always write back and say that I considered it from time to time, and might just do it some day.

Well, that day has come and the site is being reborn in a brand new format as…what else?…a blog.  :-)  Hollywood Glamour: The Art of Smoking in Cinema will have largely the same type of content as the old site – pictures and screen grabs of smoking in the movies.  But it will take on some new things as well.  Back then, grabbing video clips was challenging and, due to low quality, not very rewarding.  That has changed, and I expect to be able to put high quality video clips on the site.  Also, screen grabbing has come a long way since the Snappy days – DVD and Blu-Ray discs are abundant and are of much higher quality than VHS tape, so I’ve discarded all my old screen shots (you wouldn’t believe how bad they look by today’s standards, though I recall that back then they seemed pretty darn cool) and plan on doing all fresh ones.  Obviously, since I’m also running the Lady Madonna main site as well as the Pretty In Leather blog, I won’t be dedicating hours and hours to this the way that I did back in the day, but I have a large library of celebrity smoking shots to draw from, so updates should be fairly frequent, with the occasional new set of screen grabs and video clips from my extensive DVD library.

I’ve started by posting a few favorite shots, so come on over and pay a visit, and check in frequently for new updates.  This is something I’ve actually wanted to get going again for a long time, and I’m pretty enthusiastic about doing it, so I’m excited to share some great celebrity smoking shots with all of you once again.  See you over there, and as always, enjoy!
